#2 – Modern yoyoing featured in a commercial highlighting 90’s Fads…
I love that yoyoing got some exposure, but everything that was shown in this commercial (minus the tablet) was a 90’s fad. Do we really want modern yoyoing spoken in the same breath as
Nike Reebok Pumps, fanny packs, hammer pants, and troll dolls? I get it that yoyos were big in the 90’s, but why use a modern play style? Most likely Microsoft did not know that the sport has changed so much since the 90’s? Regardless….
Cool, yoyoing got featured in a Microsoft commercial.
Cool, Patrick got paid for a talent he loves.
Cool, YoYoFactory has a product featured in an International ad campaign (unknowingly apparently so maybe not cool?)
YoYoing being remembered in the same frame of mind as the Walkman and Pogs…… well, I’ll let you decide.
