New York Yo-Yo Slam Update

Quick update on the New York Yo-Yo Slam.  Things are really coming together great.  We have players coming from Massachusetts, Maryland, Upstate NY, NY City, Toronto, Ohio, and I’m sure some others.

We are really psyched to have Mark Hayward Hosting the Contest/Show.  Mark is a real pro and will bring a lot of professionalism and some laughs to the event and the Show.  Judging we have Jumario Simmons, Dan Dietz, and we haven’t decided on the third yet.

We’ve also got a great halftime show featuring professional juggler and kendama guy, Joe Showers.  We will also be having a halftime Kendama Contest.

Also two new yo-yo releases from Spin Dynamics and King Yo Star.  Details on these brand new yo-yos will be available soon.

For those who haven’t been following this contest, it is the first of its kind.  Prelims are judged by a panel of three judges, and finals are judged by the three judges with the audience voting as a fourth judge.  The whole event is being taped for a TV show which we hope to air in a few markets and ultimately use as a Pilot for a bigger network show.

All scoring will be live.  That means players will get their scores at the end of their routine, live, directly from each judge.  Completely transparent.

Just a reminder the event is Sept 19th, Registration is 9-10am at the Strong Museum of Play in Rochester NY.  Find us on Facebook or check out our website for more info.
