A few undisclosed yo-yo companies are working with together to do an online yo-yo contest. Winner takes home a thousand bucks! The undisclosed parties are working out a few details, but will announce officially soon.

I’m not sure how much I like this idea, everyone is just going to put together a freestyle (or 5 if you have to make a new one each round) and do it over and over until they get it perfect on video. I really hope this doesn’t replace actual contests. Definitely a fun idea though, I might throw my hat in the ring.
