Individuality- something that most seem to never achieve. Some seem to have the natural ability to be a individual while others strive in vain to do it by force. Individuality has always been something on my mind when it relates to the yoyo world. Individuality seems to be quite present amongst the ranks of yoyoers in the community. With individuality, it breaks down to many things in the yoyo world like being a regular joe of a player, or being a video recorder, or editing, or innovator. I wonder now, reader, what may you be?
I could use many existing players right now that seem to be quite individual amongst the crowd of yoyoers. Of course, it may sound like I am being picky or choosing the most popular, but these very players are ones that make the yoyo world exciting to be in because they are individuals. They are popular because they are being themselves. Names like Yuuki Spencer, Kentaro Kimura, Jonrob, Adam Brewster, or Shingo Terrada, each of them are such individuals that it is quite amazing. It seems to be that having quite a personality, or achieving some sort of special niche seems to make you shine amongst the rest is what makes you stand out in the crowd. Whether you have swagger and great skills with 1a, or your by far the humblest person out there, you define yourself. You are you no matter what you do, and no one can steal that away from you.
Over my yoyo “career” I was the anonymous type, merely being on the sidelines throwing and learning everyone’s material. It wasn’t until much later in 2007 that I was able to break out of the routine of being the anonymous and being considered a “somebody” amongst the crowd. To be honest, its been quite difficult. Being yourself can truly cost you. Going on your own path in life can truly be risky but more awarding then ever. I chose my path by being myself. I’m quite known for my appearance, from usually wearing black, having the rocker visual image, and a attitude that is “Risk all, lose everything” mentality. You may know me in the yoyo world now knows me as the “moebius king” or “King of a style no one cares about”. I’m also known for being passionate for what I do and as I am told, a nice guy. These things seem to make me quite a individual within our small world of toys. I’ve had negative opinions about how I dress, and I’ve had mixed reviews on my tricks but I’ve never backed down before. I’ll continue to be who I am, how I am, and what I am.

One of the best pieces of writing I’ve ever read. This writing is completely true. Wonderful writing Zammy.

loved this piece, it rang very true on all fronts. I have always liked Zammy’s style of play and never really noticed his style of dress, mainly because it looks just like the style that most of my friends wore in high school and college. LOL
And to answer the question in the article, I am an Average Joe Player. I throw to relax, have no desire to compete, and love showing my children and my students the new tricks I learn.

Moebius is awesome!
I’m still at intermediate level so most of my tricks have already been done, but I always want to make my own tricks and I want to create a style that no one else does.
