I just got a Dark Magic II and it’s great. Just one problem. The responsive bearing is stuck in place and I cant figure out how to get it off the hub and put the non-responsive bearing in. Has any one else had this problem? Any suggestions?
Also, as it is, my spin time is really short.

anyone else have problems with the grippies falling out?? I’m on my 2nd one this month(already had one replaced) and the grippies just fell out of this one too. And on the same note, how do you put them back in??? They are larger than the grooves they came out of and don’t want to stay in.

@Druminpython — I don’t have a great technical answer for you, but I can tell you it plays awesome (w/ speed bearing). It’s like a well tuned original DM with a better response system.

Lots of sarcasm from Mo, but no real answer to Drum’s question. Now, perhaps it doesn’t amount to enough to be too perceptible, but it’s just common sense that unless you change the axle too, the lateral balance is going to be different.

Yup, Hitmans getting an overhaul, and to my knowledge, the rest of the yoyojam metal rimmed line, less the newbreed and atmosphere, will in time, be made with the new solid spin axle setup.

NOW I WANTED THE MINI MOTUTU (motu two)

Sadly i was never really a fan of DM.

God, i wish it was a hitman, vict or mo’s.

Druminpython, you are 100% off basis. This has been successfully done many, many times as I’m sure it is this time.

Easily the most ignorant post I have read so far this year; lololol. If you had any idea what you were talking about; you would be dangerous. Why would you even think that Dale and Andre would not have properly calculated the ‘depth positioning’ of the axle, depending on which bearing would be used?? Also; it is not a ‘two bearing deal’.. it is an extra bearing literally thrown in to make the yoyo more versatile. If you are already advanced; you just don’t use the thin bearing or just give it to a kid that might need it.
“Constantly out of tune”? < I think your theory is constantly out of tune; hahaha.
I am only correcting you because you asked to be corrected if your thinking was ‘off’.. We have a Bingo.
The only thing you said that actually sounded like good thinking was saying you are still going to get one; hahahaha.

Sometimes I think it may be better to hold unfounded ideas until you actually get your hands on a yoyo and then post,’what you know instead of what you think’…

    This Looks soooo tight!!
but I really wish they wouldnt do the two bearing deal, if you think about it they probably have the axle large enough to reach the ends of the threads on the yoyo with the slim bearing installed, while when you put the wider beaing in, it is going to be constantly (what is considered) out of tune. Although I have never played a DMII or a Revolution, these are basically my thoughts about it…someone correct me if im wrong =)

    im still gonna get one.

@throttle The Dark Magic has to be yoyojam’s best selling yoyo, because beginners buy it. I don’t think they’re having trouble selling it at the current price. Any yoyo that can be responsive is a great yoyo for a beginner.

Why, oh why, responsive play? I don’t see the dark magic as a beginner yoyo. Unless its price drops down to half its actual one.
