Hey guys. Yesterday I lost my Grandfather. He had a huge role in my life and my Grandparents helped raise me and my sisters after my Mom passed away when I was 6. I was not sure about the funeral arrangements until about an hour ago, and it looks like I am catching a last minute (and expensive) flight to Houston to attend the Funeral. This means that there will be a delay in news and the scheduled review / After the Jump. it did not help that I didn’t get power in my house back until 6am today….
I am putting this up as a plea for patience. I know that many people like and rely on the routine I have established here at YoYoSkills of there last two years but when you mash up a last minute Death in the family, with already tight holiday times, there is a good chance that I won’t catch as much news as I usually do and won’t post things on time. This also means that I may be looking at a situation where I push back all my reviews by a week to compensate.
There IS a way that You, the readers can help. If you want to send yo-yo news info to me to help me out (So I don’t have to dig for it) then it would make things a bit easier to get news updates up on YoYoSkills.
Thank you for understanding
– Chris “Dr. Yo-Yo” Allen

Chris.. you are easily one of the nicest guys I have met in a half century. I have no doubt that your Grandpa was a heck of a guy. I read this somewhere, years ago>>>> ‘Life is a Series of Challenges that we try to Survive’. I did not really give that much thought until I started losing relatives and friends. I used to drive by the Graveyard and say,’ Helloooooooooooo Grandma’.. That was a long long time ago. Now I just drive by and say,’ Helloooooooooooooooooooo Everybody’. There are soo many things we(in the yoyo community) can have differences or opinion on; that is the nature of Humans.. But there is also 1 thing that We, in the Worldwide yoyo Community Can agree on and totally relate to. And that is the feeling of losing Someone Special. < there is no argument there. We can ALL Relate. As can already be noted from the responses before mine; the guys appreciate what you do on your Amazing Yoyoskills site. Your dedication is soo evident by simply recognizing that even during an emotionally tough time as now; you may be concerned about now updating your site information in your standard timely manner. Take care of Business and We will be here when you get back. I already talked to you on AIM, so you know I feel sad about your situation: Working hard../trying to take care of Christmas stuff…/trying to find a house to live in…/and having a Very Close Loved one Pass Away < and scrambling to get the money to make it back to the Funeral.. That is truly one of those Challenges. <You are here on this side of the Country taking care of stuff and the very next morning you are on an Airplane. My friend.. my condolences.

Chris I am truly sorry for your loss. It was around this time last year that I lost my Grandmother. It was terribly hard for my family during the holidays, but everyone pushed through and the holiday spirit came back alive.
I wish the best to you and your family. Times are hard. Stay true to the ones you love and you’ll be fine. I hope your holidays turn around soon.
