Shinwoo Zen 6

I saw this a few days ago on YoYoExpert’s Twitter but forgot to post it.

I have tried the Zen 2 and 3. Shinwoo knows what they are doing. This line of yoyo’s has been great all over and this new one at the insane price of $44.99 is just jaw dropping.

Question for those who have tried it–How Smooth?

Trevorvor>> What is the Function of that step at the gap? I am only asking since you mentioned that the step is ‘functional’. Can you say what its’ function is? thanks

Unfortunately my experience with Shinwoo has been nothing short of terrible. I have nothing good to say about their machining quality. The price is the only thing they have in their favor.

The way I see it, it’s the general YYR shape with a few extra cuts and a (functional) step at the gap. Not 100% totally original, nor does it have to be.

Also, who else besides me is a little peeved that YYE is using watermarks now??

I guess we might as well start bashing the following list while we’re at it.
fh0 – for the shape of the kickside
juggernaut – for the shape of the lyn
counter attack, grind machine, die nasty – all the same shape
dv888 – need I say? it even took the name
star line of yyf – same general shape of the luchador by throw down
panda and hayabusa – same shape just added rings to the original shape
    free bird – c13/frantic/c22/
speed maker – k-os with sharp rims
I can probably go on if you’d like I just can’t think of any more off the top of my head.

I just got my in the mail and I must say, for $45, you get WAY more bang for your buck. So far its the best $45 I’ve spent on a throw.

I think the Zen folks have been eating too much Swiss Cheese. Actually it’s not the cheese as much as the way you ‘CUT’ it. It would be interesting to understand the functionality of those slightly elevated rings proximal to the response relief? Trying to visualize something beyond the,’ Let’s just make it look a little different’ program of design engineering; haha. Great price though if it’s a player; no doubt.

Seriously though, it is original and I know it will get flak for unfair reasons. Nice design and good for them.

    A cut above the rest.
