Holy Higby Campfire Batman - UPDATED AGAIN

HAWT!!!!!
I saw this on the Save Deth blog and damaged my jaw at the insane speed it dropped to the ground.
John Higby had a hand in designing naming the Campfire, so a signature edition is a natural (and awesome) step.
Also, keep an eye on the Save Deth blog, they are going to be dropping the first images of the new CLYW yoyos, The Sasquatch and Gnarwhal.
UPDATE: Word on the street is that this pink package of proverbial win is set to drop at the CLYW Store on Thursday (Today?). But then again, you would know that if you were following the CLYW Twitter…
UPDATE AGAIN: Its has dropped. GO GET TEH HAWTNESS
Higby Profly’s, Get them or Paint your Own!

From John:
I have been painting clear PROYOS since my first order with Don Duncan Jr. in 1995.
Unbelievable, but I have estimated that I have painted over 50,000 ProYos in 14 years. Whoa!
Mostly have sold them at my performances and on eBay,
The ProYo started with Don Duncan, then Playmxx operated by Tom and Hans made some changes to the oiginal and called it the proyo 2. Duncan later bought out Playmaxx. I have been along for the ride with this yo-yo the whole time.
I have always wanted a butterfly proyo in clear so I put in my special order for 1000 with Duncan and I finally got em! Wood axle but dreamy and it is finally time to learn Shoot for the Moon y’all!
Available here…

Or if you want to paint your own I am selling a few clear with clear caps too!
Also in John’s Big Bartel store are a few awesome items like a Shinobu Gold Painted MG, and some hand painted Higby wonders.

CLYW Dishes the Dirt on The Campfire
Thank goodness for Twitter!
Head over to the Caribou Blog for the details on the origin of the Campfire, the new budget minded yo-yo coming soon from CLYW. I love the background, it involves Jensen, Higby, and a game of Zombie Dominies (I can’t back that up).

Thrown! Curated By: Steve Brown
July 31 - August 29
Opening reception July 31, 7-10pm
“Thrown” is an exhibit of yo-yo related artwork, created entirely by yo-yo players!
Ink drawings, paintings, airbrush, silkscreen, customized yo-yos, and plenty more from a motley assemblage of yo-yo players young and old will take over the Shoparooni Annex.
Yo-Yos are a creative endeavour that is generally abandoned with youth. Through this assemblage of works from adults and young adults who never stopped playing, we hope to present the art of yo-yo play as seen through the eyes of the people who never gave it up. Also, there will be beer.
Participating artists include: Seth Peterson (IA), Mark McBride (CA), John Higby (MA), Krisgoat (OR), Steve Brown (OH), Sonny Patrick (CA), Drew Tetz (MO), Jensen Kimmitt (Canada), Doc Pop (CA), Paul Escolar (CA), Eric Carlson (WV), Mark Hayward (PA)
For those who cannot attend, all works will be available online after the opening athttp://www.shoparooni.com/store!
John Higby gets a Collectible Trading Card with TOPPS

(Pictures by John Higby)
Just announced, John Higby will have an exclusive limited edition insert in an upcoming Topps baseball card set. Topps nostalgia themed “Allen and Ginter” set has regularly had “Game Used Artifact” cards that in the past have featured pieces of Jerseys, Bats, Gloves, and Balls. Also in previous years, included in the line are occasional non baseball related memorabilia such as parts of Elvis’ Jumpsuit, George Washington’s hair, and other oddities. The 2009 Allen and Ginter line is labeled “World Champions” so it is a good chance that and recent Artistic Performance World Champion John Higby will be featured in Series Two of the 2009 set. Featured on the card is an autograph, and a piece of his YoYoJam Sunset (used in his Worlds 2008 performance) featured as a World Champion artifact.
Interview - John Higby: The YoYo Show
Posted by Dr. Yo-Yo in Interviews on October 6th, 2008
Name: John HigbyExperience: 23 Years
Specialty: Performance Awesomeness, Unicycle Areobics, Harnessing Crowd Energy.
John Higby has been to more countries than the average person can name, holds both the 2008 Worlds Artistic Performance Title and a Guiness Book Record.
The best part is, it all started with what he could do with a yo-yo. I was able to coax him off of his Unicycle to talk for a bit.
DrYoYo: John, you are a Painter, Yo-Yoer, Performer, Comic, World Record Holder, Husband, and probably the most well traveled person in the yo-yoing world. What is it that keeps you going?
John: I just learned that the biggest object in motion in nature is the EARTH while we were filming TIME WARP on the Discovery Channel. That is how I feel about the yo-yo and art in general…it is always in a constant state of becoming and getting better all the time! Plus being married to a beautiful woman helps me stay motivated.
