Do you think that Ernie Kaiser just woke up one day, after a lifetime of aeronautic experience, and thought….  “Hmm, I think I’ll start a Yo Yo company today.”  Near the middle of last year, Ernie encountered the Redondo Beach Yo-Yo Club, and something clicked in the veteran of aeronautical engineering’s brain.  November rolls around, and Ernie had a working Prototype, and a name for his company; General-Yo.  I am convinced that Ernie must start his day with a gallon of WinSauce, and everything he touches turns to Awesomeness, because he managed to pull off the unthinkable.  From the emails Ernie sent me, he had a Prototype of the Torrent already in hand when he started looking for other yo-yoers in Riverside California to learn how to yo-yo.  He created a yo-yo before actually learning how to yoyo, and succeeded right out of the gate.

PS: there are only a few of these left, at YoYonation

Thanks Chris for the review, what an honor!!
Just adding to the story a bit...
After falling in love with yoyoing again after 30 years I learned some moves from some great guys at the Kite store in Redondo Beach.
I threw hard every day for five, of six months and wanted to extend my hobby and make a yoyo to the specs I personally wanted.
There was one guy in particular who agreed with my size, and weight, so I though I would make us a few.
Only one problem... I could only get my round stock in 12 foot lengths.
Well....we got enough material for 70 of them.
This is getting expensive I thought!
I better file a DBA, and start writing this off of my taxes.
Thus, General-yo was born.
Its been the most fun thing I have ever done.

I stole over to Chris's house to try this thingy out, and I gotta tell you, it's solid. Really, really light on the string, but really solid! Good looks, as well. Awesome to look at in the way all those crazy machines on How It's Made are awesome to look at. That thing means business, and it looks it. Duly added to the list of yo-yo's I'm going to steal from Chris and blame it on terrorists.
